Waffles with Cream

Ingredients

  • 250 g soft butter
  • 80 g honey
  • 4 eggs
  • a pinch of salt
  • 250 ml milk
  • 400 g flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • vegetable oil (for the waffle iron)
  • 150 ml whipping cream
  • 1 tbsp orange sugar
  • 4 tbsp jam (e.g., quince)

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 80°C fan.

    Beat the butter with honey, eggs and salt until fluffy. Stir in milk, then add flour and baking powder, mixing well. Heat the waffle iron and brush with oil. Pour 2-3 tbsp of batter onto each waffle, close the lid and bake for about 3 minutes. Keep finished waffles warm in the oven.

    Whip the cream to stiff peaks while letting the orange sugar swirl into it. Fill a piping bag with a star tip.

    Serve each waffle topped with a dollop of whipped cream and a spoonful of jam.
