Ingredients

  • 80 g dates
  • 150 g blanched and ground almonds
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 100 g dark chocolate

Instructions

  1. 1.

Pit the dates and soak them in hot water for 10 minutes. Then drain the water.

  2. 2.

Add the almonds, soaked dates, and a pinch of salt to a high-powered blender or food processor and blend for about 1 minute until a marzipan-like dough forms.

  3. 3.

Shape small half-moons from each tablespoon of dough.

  4. 4.

Place the vegan almond crescents on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan 160 °C; gas: level 2–3) for 7 minutes.

  5. 5.

Remove the crescents from the oven and let them cool.

  6. 6.

Melt the chocolate over a double boiler, then dip both ends of each crescent. Place the coated crescents on a wire rack to set until the chocolate hardens.
