Vanilla Pudding with Cherries

- 500 g sour cherries
- 2 packets vanilla sugar
- 3 tbsp cherry brandy
- 1 packet vanilla pudding mix
- 0.5 l milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 150 g rye bread
- 2 tbsp butter
- 30 g chocolate shavings

Wash, pat dry, and pit the cherries. Cook the cherry pits with a little water in a pot for 5 minutes, then drain. Stir the broth with cherries and vanilla sugar, simmer for 5 minutes, remove from heat, and stir in cherry brandy. Prepare the pudding according to package instructions. Crumble the rye bread. Heat butter in a pan and toast the breadcrumbs. Drain the cherries and distribute some onto six dessert glasses. Pour a little vanilla pudding over them, then layer half of the toasted rye, drizzle with cherry juice, add more cherries, then pudding, rye, and chill until set.
