Ingredients

  • 1 Vanilla bean
  • 0.5 l milk
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 100 g sugar
  • 30 g cornstarch
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 150 g grapes
  • grapes (for garnish)
  • leaves

Instructions

    Slice the vanilla bean lengthwise, scrape out the seeds and stir them with the pod into the milk; bring to a boil then remove from heat. Whisk the egg yolks with sugar in a bowl until creamy, folding in the cornstarch. Slowly pour the warm milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly, then return everything to the pot. Remove the vanilla pod and continue stirring over low flame until the custard thickens—do not boil!

    Pour the vanilla custard with grapes into a pudding mold and chill for several hours until set.

    Serve by pouring onto a plate and garnishing with leaves.
