Ingredients

  • 300 g flour
  • 75 g powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3 drops vanilla aroma
  • 0.5 untreated lemon (grated zest)
  • 200 g cold butter
  • flour (for working)
  • powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

    Gather the flour, powdered sugar and vanilla sugar on a work surface. Place the egg with the aroma and lemon zest in the center, distribute the finely chopped butter around it. Cut everything through with a knife, then knead into a firm dough by hand. Wrap in cling film and chill for about 1 hour.

    Preheat the oven to 180°C fan. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

    Roll out the dough on a floured surface to 3-4 mm thickness. Cut cookies in any shape (e.g., stars, hearts, flowers) and place them on the tray. Bake in the middle of the oven for about 10 minutes until light yellow.

    Carefully transfer the cookies onto a cooling rack and let cool. Dust with powdered sugar.
