Ingredients

  • 125 g soft butter
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 2 packets vanilla powder
  • 1 Egg white
  • 100 g cornstarch
  • 125 g flour
  • 3 powdered sugars (for dusting)
  • 20 candied cherries (for topping)

Instructions

    Beat the fat until fluffy. Add the powdered sugar and vanilla powder, continuing to beat until a creamy foam forms.

    Fold in the egg white. Stir in the cornstarch and flour with a spoon into the cream.

    Preheat the oven to 180°C. With floured hands shape dough into hazelnut-sized balls, then press lightly to form oval cookies. Place on a greased baking sheet. Top half of the cookies with halved cherries; on the other half use a fork to make ridges.

    Bake in the oven for about 12 minutes until pale.

    Dust cooled cookies with powdered sugar.
