Ingredients

  • 2 vanilla pods
  • 100 g powdered sugar
  • 250 g flour
  • 100 g ground almond kernels
  • 220 g butter

Instructions

    Split each vanilla pod lengthwise and scrape out the seeds; mix them with the powdered sugar. Quickly knead the flour, almonds, softened butter, and 70 g of vanilla sugar into a smooth dough. Shape into a ball, wrap in foil, and chill for at least 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with upper and lower heat.

    Roll the chilled dough into a log about 3 cm in diameter; cut it into 1 cm wide pieces, shape each into a crescent moon, and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes. Carefully lift the finished cookies from the sheet and roll them in the remaining vanilla sugar.
