Turmeric Rice

The turmeric rice is easy to prepare and makes a great oriental side dish for fish, meat or vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 2 mild red chili peppers
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 350 g long-grain rice
  • 700 ml vegetable broth
  • Salt
  • coriander leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

    Wash, trim and slice the chili pepper into rings. Briefly sauté in hot oil in a pot. Add turmeric and sprinkle over the rice. Stir briefly, then pour in the broth. Season with salt and cover to simmer for about 25 minutes until liquid is absorbed.

    Taste the turmeric rice and serve on individual bowls garnished with coriander leaves.
