Ingredients

  • 800 g ripe tomatoes
  • 1 bunch basil (ca. 20 g)
  • 3 Garlic cloves
  • 6 tbsp olive oil (ca. 60 g)
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

    Rinse tomatoes with boiling water, cool in cold water, peel skin off and finely dice the flesh.

    Wash basil, shake dry, pluck leaves and roughly chop half. Peel garlic and halve.

    Heat olive oil in a pot and brown garlic on medium heat for about 3 minutes, then remove. Add tomatoes to pot, lightly salt and simmer for about 20 minutes over low to medium heat.

    After cooking time, add basil and season with salt and pepper. Serve tomato sauce garnished with basil leaves.
