Ingredients

  • 300 g onions
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 kg tomatoes
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp vinegar essence
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 chili pepper
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • white pepper (from grinder)

Instructions

    Peel and dice the onions. Heat the oil in a pot, let the onions become translucent.

    Wash the tomatoes and roughly chop them, add them with the other ingredients to the pot with the onions. Bring to a boil while stirring, then simmer on medium heat, stirring frequently for about 1 hour. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve. Reheat and reduce by about 10 minutes. Season to taste, carefully fill small cleaned bottles and seal tightly.
