Fresh and light tomato cheese skewers with poppy seeds: a refreshing treat that also works great on a buffet.
Ingredients
- 300 g tomatoes (5 tomatoes)
- a few stalks chives
- 5 g poppy seeds (1 tsp)
- 150 g low‑fat cream cheese (10% fat)
- Salt
- Pepper
Instructions
-
1.
Wash the tomatoes, cut off the stem ends in a wedge shape, then slice the tomatoes horizontally in half and trim the round undersides straight.
-
2.
Rinse the chives and shake them dry. Cut two‑thirds of them into fine ribbons and mix with the poppy seeds on a plate.
-
3.
Whisk the cream cheese and a pinch of salt until smooth with a spoon. Use a teaspoon to form ten small knots from the mixture and roll them in the poppy seed mixture.
-
4.
Season the tomato halves with pepper, place one cheese knot on each half, secure with toothpicks, garnish with chive stems if desired, and serve.
