Thunfisch Pizza Toast: How wholesome "Fast Food" can be: The bread provides fiber, while tuna delivers fluoride for healthy teeth.

Ingredients

  • 140 g tomatoes (2 tomatoes)
  • 5 slices whole grain toast
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp red pesto (jar)
  • 150 g tuna in its own juice
  • 150 g mozzarella (9% fat)

Instructions

    Wash the tomatoes, cut off the stem ends, and slice them into thin strips.

    Lightly toast the bread slices in a toaster. In a small bowl mix the tomato paste with the pesto and spread this mixture on the toasted slices.

    Drain the tuna in a sieve, place it on a plate, and break it up slightly with a fork. Distribute the tuna over the prepared toast slices and top with tomato strips.

    Drain the mozzarella, cut it into small cubes, and scatter them over the tomatoes.

    Line a baking tray with parchment paper, arrange the tuna pizza toasts on it, and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan: 160 °C, gas: level 2‑3) for about 5 minutes until the cheese melts.
