Ingredients

  • 500 ml freshly brewed black tea
  • 350 ml apple juice
  • 1 piece ginger (walnut-sized)
  • 1 small untreated lemon
  • 2 star anise
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 250 ml rum
  • brown candied sugar to taste

Instructions

    Peel the ginger and slice it. Wash the lemon hot and cut into about 0.5 cm thick slices.

    Add tea, apple juice, ginger, lemon, and spices to a pot; heat slowly until boiling. Remove from heat, stir in rum, warm briefly but do not boil. Remove spices if desired. For serving, add candied sugar to a teacup and pour the hot punch over it.
