Ingredients
- 8 large Swiss chard leaves
- 120 g lean cooked ham (4 slices)
- 120 g medieval Gouda (4 slices)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 150 g chunky tomatoes (canned or jarred)
- 125 ml meat broth (instant)
- 1 bunch chives
- 2 tbsp herb crème fraîche
- Salt
- freshly ground pepper
- 1 pinch sugar
- wooden skewers
Instructions

Rinse the Swiss chard leaves, cut off the stems and stack two leaves on top of each other. Place ham and cheese on top. Fold in the edges and roll up, securing with wooden skewers.

Heat olive oil in a non‑stick pan and brown the roulades all around over medium heat.

Stir the chunky tomatoes with broth and pour over the roulades. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.

Rinse chives, shake dry and cut into fine ribbons. Stir crème fraîche into the sauce and season with salt, pepper and sugar. Serve the roulades topped with sauce and chive ribbons alongside a side of rye bread.
