Sweet Quark Dumplings

Ingredients
- 150 g quark
- 6 tbsp plant oil
- 1 egg
- 2 packets vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 300 g flour
- 0.5 packet Baking powder
- 350 g quark
- 3 tbsp whipping cream
- 1 egg
- 5 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp zest of untreated lemon peel
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tbsp milk

Whisk quark, oil, egg, vanilla sugar and salt together. Add flour with baking powder and knead.

For the filling whisk quark with cream, egg, sugar and lemon zest.

Roll the dough thinly on a lightly floured surface (about 10x10 cm squares) and place 1 tbsp of quark filling in the center of each square. Whisk egg yolk with milk well. Brush the corners with the beaten egg yolk, fold inward and gently press together.

Place the quark dumplings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush with remaining egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (middle rack) for about 20 minutes until nicely browned. Remove and let cool.
