Make your own sweet potato spread: a simple recipe for a delicious, healthy bread topping with a sweet-savory note!

Ingredients

  • 1 sweet potato (ca. 400 g)
  • Salt
  • 1 Garlic clove
  • 80 g chickpeas (canned)
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 3 tbsp Olive oil (30 ml)
  • 1 tbsp tahini
  • 1 tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 0.5 tsp Curry Powder
  • Cumin
  • chili flakes
  • light soy sauce

    Peel the sweet potato, roughly cube it and cook in a pot of boiling salted water over medium heat for 10–12 minutes until tender. Drain and let steam off briefly. Peel the garlic.

    Drain, rinse, and pat dry the chickpeas. Combine sweet potato with chickpeas, garlic, lime juice, olive oil, tahini, and nutritional yeast in a blender and blend to a creamy consistency. Season the spread with curry, cumin, chili, soy sauce, salt, and lime juice, then serve in bowls.
