These sweet buns made from quark dough from Spoonsparrow are great for breakfast and also delicious as a snack in between.

Ingredients

  • 120 g dried dates
  • 250 g wheat flour type 1050
  • 0.5 packet baking powder (1 1/2 tsp)
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon
  • a pinch of salt
  • 150 g Low-Fat Quark
  • 30 g Rapeseed oil (3 tbsp)

Instructions

  1. 1.

Halve and pit the dates. Place the dates in a small bowl and pour over 80 ml of boiling water. Let soak for about 5 minutes, until the dates have absorbed all the liquid. Then roughly chop with a hand blender.

  2. 2.

In a mixing bowl, mix flour with baking powder, cinnamon and a pinch of salt. Add date puree, quark and oil and process everything into an elastic dough using the kneading hooks of a hand mixer.

  3. 3.

Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Shape 10 dough balls, place them on the baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan: 160 °C, gas mark 2-3) in the middle rack for about 15 minutes. Let cool for about 5 minutes and serve.
