Sweet Bread Casserole

Ingredients

  • 8 blue fresh plums
  • 1 pinch Ground cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • butter (for the ramekins)
  • 4 slices stale white bread
  • 250 ml Whipping Cream
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 180°C fan-forced.

    Wash the plums, halve them, pit and chop small. Mix with cinnamon, sugar and lemon juice, let stand for 20 minutes and distribute into oven-safe buttered ramekins. Tear the bread into coarse bite-sized pieces and spread over the plums. Whisk the cream with the eggs and powdered sugar, pour over the bread and let sit for about 10 minutes. Then bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes until golden yellow.
