Doughnuts, Berliner or fried dough pastries. The yeast dough has different names, shapes and fillings depending on the region. Either way it is delicious! (Spoonsparrow)

Ingredients

  • 1 cube fresh yeast
  • 200 ml lukewarm milk (1.5% fat)
  • 500 g wheat flour type 1050
  • a pinch salt
  • 100 g butter
  • 60 g Coconut blossom sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 100 ml Rapeseed oil
  • 20 g powdered sugar from raw cane sugar

Instructions

  1. 1.

Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm milk for the dough. Mix 480 g of flour with salt, place it in a bowl, create a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture. Add butter, sugar and egg, then knead with hands or the paddle attachment of an electric hand mixer until smooth. If the dough feels too wet, add a little more flour; if it’s too dry, add a bit more lukewarm milk. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 1 hour.

  2. 2.

Cut small portions from the dough, shape them into balls or squares on a floured surface. Heat oil in a pot and fry the doughnuts until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon, drain, and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
