Sugar-Glazed Pipe Noodles

Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 250 ml milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 80 g Butter
- 70 g sugar

- 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
- 150 g powdered sugar
- 3 tbsp toasted almond slivers (lightly roasted to taste)
Instructions

Sift flour onto a wooden board. Press a depression in the center. Mix yeast with 1 tsp sugar and some lukewarm milk, add to the center, dust with flour and let rise for 10 minutes. Knead the pre‑rise dough with the remaining ingredients thoroughly, working the dough vigorously. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise again in a warm place for about 40–50 minutes until it has roughly doubled.

Knead the dough once more, shape into a mound, divide into 16 pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and arrange side by side in a well‑greased baking dish sprinkled with sugar on the bottom. Bake at 180 °C for about 30–40 minutes until golden yellow.

Whisk powdered sugar with lemon juice to a smooth glaze, lift the pipe noodles from the dish, drizzle with glaze and sprinkle almond slivers. Enjoy warm or cold.
