Grandma's bread casserole tastes great for all ages and is easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 5 slices baguette
  • 100 ml milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 100 g heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp Raisins
  • 2 packets vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar (for dusting)
  • butter (for the pan)

Instructions

    Grease a small baking dish. Cut the baguette slices in half lengthwise.

    Whisk together milk, eggs, heavy cream and vanilla sugar thoroughly.

    Arrange the bread pieces in a brick‑like pattern in the dish, sprinkle with raisins, then pour the egg‑cream mixture over them.

    Bake in a preheated oven at 200 °C (400 °F) for about 30 minutes until golden brown. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
