Ingredients
- 375 g mixed dried fruit (e.g., apricots, plums, apple rings, pears)
- 0.75 l water
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 0.5 orange (unprocessed)
- Sugar to taste

Wash the dried fruit well, pour cold water over it and soak overnight. The next day add the fruits with the soaking water to a pot, cut off large pieces of orange peel and add the cinnamon stick. Bring everything to a boil and then simmer on low heat until the fruits are soft.

Depending on the type and quality of the dried fruit, cooking time is about 20 minutes. After cooking sweeten the compote while warm with sugar if desired. Let it cool, then remove the cinnamon stick and orange peel.
