Sugar-Covered Cookies
Bake the cookies with sugar glaze from Spoonsparrow. Thanks to less sugar and whole wheat flour you can snack healthily.
Ingredients
- 60 g Butter
- 50 g raw cane sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 100 g whole wheat flour
- a pinch salt
- 100 g powdered sugar made from raw cane sugar
- various food coloring
Instructions
-
1.
Beat the butter with raw cane sugar until creamy using a hand mixer. Add the egg and cinnamon, then mix in the flour and salt. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
-
2.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 0.5 cm thickness and cut out fir tree shapes. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 °C (fan 160 °C; gas: level 2–3) for about 12–15 minutes. Remove and let cool.
-
3.
Whisk powdered sugar with 1 tbsp water to make a thick glaze. Brush the fir trees with it and allow to dry.
-
4.
Color the remaining glaze with food coloring and, using a toothpick, drop small colorful dots onto the white glaze.
