Ingredients

  • 300 g flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 packets vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 200 g butter
  • flour (for work surface)
  • 120 g powdered sugar

Instructions

    Mix flour with salt and vanilla sugar, sift onto the work surface, create a well in the center, crack the egg into it, and distribute butter pieces around the well. Quickly knead with hands into a smooth dough, shape into a ball, wrap in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

    Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with upper and lower heat.

    Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 0.4 cm thickness and cut circles (~5 cm diameter) with a cookie cutter. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, sprinkle powdered sugar, press lightly, and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes. Remove, lift from the sheet with parchment, and cool on a wire rack. Stack cookies to serve.
