Ingredients

  • 200 g long-grain rice
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 cardamom pod
  • 2 slices ginger
  • 2 Apples
  • 2 EL Butter
  • 1 Orange (juice)
  • 1 EL honey
  • 2 lettuce leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

    Mix the rice in a sieve and place it in a sufficiently large steamer basket. In a wok or pot, pour about 3 cm of water and add the cloves, opened cardamom pod, and ginger slices. Place the steamer basket on top, cover, and steam for about 25 minutes (or according to package instructions + 5 minutes).

    Wash the apples, remove the core, and slice into thin wedges. Sauté in butter for 3-4 minutes until soft. Deglaze with orange juice and let simmer for 5 minutes.

    Lightly sweeten the finished rice, fold in the apple slices, and arrange as desired in the steamer basket.
