Steamed Brussels sprouts with lemon and pepper is a perfect after-work recipe – quick to make, healthy, and made with fresh ingredients.
Ingredients
- 800 g fresh Brussels sprouts
- 1 untreated lemon
- 400 ml Vegetable broth
- Salt
- Pepper (freshly ground)

Clean, wash, and halve the Brussels sprouts. Rinse the lemon under hot water, dry it, and zest the peel. Squeeze out the juice. Bring the broth with the lemon juice, salt, and pepper to a boil in a pot.

Place the Brussels sprouts in a steamer basket, cover with a lid, set over the boiling broth (the steamer should not touch the broth), and steam for about 15 minutes.

Remove the steamed Brussels sprouts, arrange on a plate, season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle with lemon zest before serving.
