Ingredients

  • 375 g flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 250 g butter
  • 1 Egg white
  • 120 g ground hazelnuts
  • 150 g currant jam
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

    Knead flour, baking powder, sugar, vanilla sugar, butter in pieces, egg white and ground hazelnuts into a dough, shape into a ball and wrap in cling film for 30 minutes in the refrigerator.

    Roll the dough on a floured surface to about 0.4 cm thickness and cut out round cookies with wavy edges (about 5 cm diameter) using a cookie cutter. Cut small stars from half of the cookies in the middle. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 12 minutes. Remove and let cool.

    Warm the jam, brush it over the cookies without stars. Set aside the remaining cookies, press them slightly together and let dry. Dust with powdered sugar.
