Ingredients

  • 375 g flour
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 200 g sugar
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 250 g butter
  • 1 Egg white
  • 120 g ground hazelnuts
  • 150 g currant jam
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

    Knead flour, baking powder, sugar, vanilla sugar, butter pieces, egg white and ground hazelnuts into a ball, wrap in plastic film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

    Roll the dough to about 0.7 cm thickness on a floured surface and cut out wavy‑rimmed cookie shapes (≈5 cm diameter) with a round cutter. From half of the cookies cut small stars or circles in the middle. Place cookies on a parchment‑lined baking sheet and bake at 180 °C for about 12 minutes. Remove and cool.

    Warm the jam, brush it over the starless cookies. Set aside remaining cookies, press slightly and let dry. Dust with powdered sugar.
