Ingredients

  • 20 shrimp
  • 2 l water
  • 2 EL sea salt
  • 2 Bay leaves
  • 2 Eggs
  • 150 ml milk
  • 2 EL olive oil
  • 1 TL baking powder
  • 1 TL salt
  • 250 g flour
  • vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

    Heat the water with sea salt and bay leaves. Once it boils, add the shrimp for a maximum of 2 minutes so they are only partially cooked. Then remove the head and shell, but not the tail.

    For the dough mix the flour with baking powder. Add eggs, salt, oil and milk and whisk into a smooth batter. Heat plenty of oil in a deep fryer. Grab the shrimp by the tail, dip them in the batter and fry immediately. Drain on paper towels.
