Shortbread

Ingredients
- 300 g butter
- 150 g sugar
- 2 pinches salt
- 400 g flour
- 100 g ground walnuts
- 120 g fine sugar
Instructions

Whisk the softened butter with sugar and salt until fluffy.

Sift the flour into the butter mixture and quickly knead everything into a dough.

Shape the dough into a ball, wrap it in foil, and let it rest in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1.5 cm, place it on the baking sheet, and prick it several times with a fork.

Bake the dough for approximately 15–20 minutes until golden yellow.

While still hot, cut the shortbread into strips about 2 × 6 cm long on the baking sheet.

Toss the strips in fine sugar and allow them to cool.
