Ingredients
- 250 g soft butter
- 125 g sugar
- 350 g flour
- 1 pinch salt
- flour (for working)
- sugar (for turning)
Instructions

Beat the butter until soft, add the sugar and whisk until frothy. Stir in the flour and salt and knead with your hands into a smooth dough.

Roll the dough into strands about 4 cm in diameter, wrap in cling film and chill for about 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 175 °C fan‑forced and line a baking tray with parchment paper.

Cut the dough into slices about 1/2 cm thick. Place on the tray and bake for about 10 minutes until light yellow. Remove, toss in sugar and let cool.

Store the shortbread in an airtight container for several months.
