Shortbread

Ingredients
- 300 g butter
- 150 g sugar
- 2 pinch salt
- 400 g flour
- 100 g ground walnuts
- 120 g fine sugar
- cocoa powder

Beat the softened butter with sugar and salt until fluffy. Sift the flour into the butter mixture and quickly knead everything into a dough. Shape it into a ball, wrap in foil, and let rest in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 1½ cm, place it on the baking sheet, and prickle it several times with a fork. Bake the dough for approximately 15–20 minutes until golden yellow.

While still hot, cut the cookie into strips about 2×6 cm long. Toss the shortbreads in fine sugar if desired and decorate with cocoa lines; allow to cool.
