Ingredients

  • 150 g raw sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 100 g light honey
  • vanilla beans
  • a little oil (for greasing)

Instructions

    Roast the sesame in a dry pan over medium heat, stirring for 5 minutes until golden. Remove immediately and let cool slightly. Blend with lemon juice in a blender or food processor to a slightly chunky paste.

    Pour honey into a pot, split vanilla beans and scrape out the seeds, mix into the honey, gently warm. Combine with sesame paste, stir until thick and sticky. Grease a shallow bowl and pour hot mixture in, press firmly and smooth. Let cool for about 1 hour.
