Dried Fruit Compote

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp hibiscus tea
  • 250 g mixed dried fruit (e.g., plums, apricots, figs)
  • 30 g Raisins
  • 0.5 untreated lemon (juice and zest)
  • 0.5 untreated orange (juice and zest)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick (halved)
  • 1 tbsp Sunflower seeds

Instructions

    Pour 300 ml boiling water over the tea and let steep for 20 minutes, then strain through a sieve.

    Coarsely chop the dried fruit and add it with raisins and the tea to a pot. Add lemon and orange juice and zest, honey, cloves, and cinnamon stick; bring to a boil. Then cover and simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.

    Toast sunflower seeds in a dry pan without fat.

    Remove the cloves and let the compote cool for about an hour. Plate on dishes and serve.

    Serve with yogurt as desired.
