Ingredients
- 1 chicken
- 250 g rice
- 300 ml water
- 4 tbsp oil
- 1 pinch saffron strands
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp poppy seeds
- 1 onion (diced)
- 1 tsp ginger (finely grated)
- 6 garlic cloves (in the skin)
- 2 cloves
- Salt
- pepper (from grinder)
Instructions

Wash and drain rice. Sauté in 2 tbsp oil, add water and saffron. Cover and simmer on low heat for about 25 minutes.

Wash chicken, pat dry and cut into small pieces. Crush coriander and poppy seeds in a mortar, mix with 1 tsp salt and season the meat.

Sauté onion cubes in remaining oil, then add meat, pressed garlic cloves, cloves, and ginger. Deglaze with a little water, cover and simmer for about 40 minutes. Finally stir in rice and adjust seasoning.
