Ingredients
- 4 pears
- 400 ml dry red wine
- 3 tbsp Marsala
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 0.5 cinnamon stick
- 0.5 lemon
- 2 star anise
- 80 g parmesan (chunks)

Heat red wine, Marsala, sugar, cinnamon, star anise and lemon in a tall pot.

Peel pears, leaving the stem base intact, place them in the pot and simmer covered for about 15 minutes. The pears should soften but not fall apart; occasionally spoon some wine reduction over them.

Transfer pears with a bit of sauce to plates, break parmesan into chunks and arrange on top of the pears.
