Ingredients

  • 120 g butter
  • 180 g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 250 g flour
  • 50 g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 120 ml buttermilk
  • red food coloring
  • 120 g butter
  • 75 g powdered sugar
  • 150 g marshmallow cream

Instructions

    Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) with upper and lower heat.

    Beat the butter with the sugar until fluffy. Add the egg and mix well. Gradually sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder, then fold in the buttermilk to form a smooth batter. Tint the batter red with a few drops of food coloring.

    Using a tablespoon, drop small spoonfuls (about 2 cm diameter) onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes. Remove and let cool.

    For the filling, beat the butter with the sugar until pale and fluffy, then stir in the marshmallow cream. Spread the filling over half of the whoopie pies and top with the remaining pies.
