Protein Bread

Try the protein bread from Spoonsparrow. Start your breakfast with a portion of muscle-strengthening protein.

Ingredients

  • 100 g ground flaxseed
  • 100 g Ground Almonds
  • 50 g wheat bran
  • 2 tbsp spelt whole-grain flour
  • 1 packet baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 300 g Low-fat quark
  • 6 egg whites
  • sunflower seeds (to taste)
  • pumpkin seeds (to taste)

Instructions

    Mix flaxseed, almonds, wheat bran, spelt whole-grain flour, baking powder and salt. Add quark and egg whites and blend into a smooth dough using a mixer.

    Line the bottom of a loaf pan with parchment paper and lightly brush it with water. Pour the dough into the pan and sprinkle sunflower or pumpkin seeds on top as desired.

    Bake the bread in a preheated oven at 175 °C (fan 150 °C; gas: level 2) for about 50 minutes until golden brown. Let the loaf rest for 10–15 minutes, then carefully remove it from the pan.
