Ingredients

  • 3 kg pears
  • 80 ml lemon juice
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 80 g raw cane sugar
  • 200 ml light grape juice

Instructions

    The pears are peeled, halved and pitted. The pieces are drizzled with lemon juice and layered in pre-cooked jars. Add the cinnamon sticks and cloves. Boil about 800 ml water together with the sugar and grape juice until it boils and simmer for 2–3 minutes.

    Cover the pears completely with the syrup solution. Seal the jars and cook them in a large pot with 1 l hot water for 20 minutes. Store the jars in a dark, cool place.
