Ingredients

  • 500 g low‑fat quark
  • 2 Eggs
  • 400 g flour
  • a pinch of salt
  • 16 plums
  • 16 pieces cube sugar
  • 20 g butter
  • 8 tbsp chopped hazelnuts
  • 100 g butter
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • plums (halved, pitted)
  • powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. 1.

Drain the quark well and place it in a bowl. Stir in eggs and flour until the dough is relatively firm. Divide the dough into 16 portions and flatten each piece slightly. Wash the plums, pat dry, and pit them without halving. Place one cube of sugar in the center of each portion, fold over, and press the plum onto the dough to form dumplings.

  2. 2.

Bring plenty of salted water to a boil and cook the dumplings for 15 minutes on low heat. When they float to the surface, remove with a slotted spoon and drain well. Melt butter. Arrange the dumplings on plates, sprinkle hazelnuts over them, drizzle melted butter, and dust with vanilla sugar. Serve fresh plums sprinkled with powdered sugar alongside.
