Pickled Pears in Red Wine Vinegar and Cinnamon

Ingredients

  • 500 ml red wine vinegar
  • 200 g honey
  • 20 g ginger (1 piece)
  • 1 Organic lemon
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 Cloves
  • 4 pears

Instructions

    Add 500 ml water, the vinegar and the honey to a pot and bring to a boil. While that boils, peel the ginger and cut it into pieces. Wash the lemon hot and slice it thinly. Remove the pot from heat, add the lemon slices, cinnamon, ginger and cloves, cover and let steep for about 10 minutes.

    Meanwhile wash and peel the pears. Add the pears to the liquid and simmer covered over medium heat for about 10 minutes.

    Remove the pears and place them in sterilized jars. Cook the liquid for another 20 minutes over medium heat. Then pour the liquid over the pears so they are fully submerged. Seal the jars immediately.
