Apple Cream Trifle

Ingredients

  • 1 apple (e.g., Boskop)
  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 60 g chopped almonds (6 tbsp)
  • 150 g Yogurt (1.5% fat)
  • 100 g low-fat quark
  • 8 g vanilla sugar (1 packet)
  • a pinch ground cinnamon
  • a pinch ground cardamom
  • 50 ml whipping cream

Instructions

    Wash the apple, quarter it, core it and dice the flesh into very small cubes. Add honey and lemon juice to a pot and bring to a boil covered. Then remove from heat and let cool.

    Meanwhile roast the almonds in a pan without oil until fragrant. Remove them.

  3. 3.

    Whisk yogurt with quark, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, cardamom and cream into a smooth custard in about 5 minutes.

    Fold 5 tbsp of almonds into the apple mixture.

    Layer the apple mixture and custard alternately in 4 glasses, topping with some apple pieces. Sprinkle with remaining almonds and chill for 30 minutes.
