Ingredients

  • 250 g soup noodles
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • 150 g sugar
  • 250 g quark
  • 3 eggs
  • Salt
  • 4 tbsp chopped pecans
  • 1 orange
  • a pinch pepper

Instructions

  1. 1.

Cook the noodles according to package instructions in salted water until al dente. Peel the orange with a sharp knife, removing the white pith. Cut fruit segments from the separating membranes and catch the released juice. Squeeze the remaining orange pulp for extra juice. In a pan combine the juice with half the sugar and 2 tbsp oil, letting it lightly caramelize; stir in the orange segments and mix into the drained noodles. Beat the eggs with the remaining sugar until frothy, fold in quark and a touch of pepper, then fold in pecans and combine with the noodles.

  2. 2.

Grease an oven dish with the remaining oil, pour in the noodle mixture, and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 50 minutes until the surface is lightly browned. Remove from the oven and serve hot, dusted with cinnamon.
