Ingredients
- 400 g fusilli (spiral pasta)
- Salt
- black pepper (freshly ground)
- 1 tsp sugar
- 150 g chopped tomatoes (canned)
- 2 Garlic cloves
- 1 small dried red chili pepper
- 4 tbsp black olives
- 2 tbsp coarsely chopped basil
- cold-pressed olive oil
- 3 salsiccia sausages (or 5-6 Nürnberger Rostbratwürstchen as substitute)

Peel and finely chop the garlic. Crush the chili pepper in a mortar. Slice the salsiccia into thin rounds. Heat 3 tbsp oil and sauté the garlic briefly (do not brown). Add the salsiccia to fry for a moment, then add the tomatoes. Simmer for about 5 minutes over medium heat until slightly reduced. Season with sugar, salt, pepper, and chili (a pinch or the whole pepper as desired).

Cook the pasta in plenty of boiling salted water until al dente, then drain. Toss the pasta with the sauce, olives, basil, and 1 tbsp oil, and serve immediately.
