Pan-Seared Shrimp with Garlic and Lemon

Ingredients

  • 20 large shrimp (prepped, deveined, and peeled except tail segment)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 piece fresh ginger
  • 1 untreated lemon
  • 1 red pepper
  • 5 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt

    Pat the shrimp dry. Peel and thinly slice the garlic. Wash the ginger and cut 1–2 slices. Zest a small strip of lemon peel or cut it into pieces. Halve the lemon and squeeze out the juice from one half. Wash the red pepper and cut several rings.

    Add 3–4 tbsp oil to a saucepan, then add the garlic, ginger, lemon zest, and pepper. Let it heat briefly, then remove from heat. Add 2–3 tbsp lemon juice and let steep.
