A dessert from sweet dried fruit that contains no fat and very few calories, yet is rich in vitamin C.
Ingredients
- 125 g small organic orange (1 small organic orange)
- 175 g small pink grapefruit (organic quality, 1 small pink grapefruit)
- 1 dried date
Instructions
-
1.
Rinse the orange and grapefruit under hot water and pat dry.
-
2.
Using a vegetable peeler, remove a strip of peel about 3 cm long from each fruit, cutting it into thin crosswise strips.
-
3.
Peel the fruits thick enough to also remove the white pith.
-
4.
Separate the fruit segments between the membranes; work over a bowl to catch the juice.
-
5.
Slice the date lengthwise in half, remove the pit if necessary, and cut the flesh into very fine strips.
-
6.
Combine the date strips with the fruit segments, half of the peel strips, and the collected juice in a bowl. Let stand for 10 minutes. Plate on a dish and sprinkle with the remaining peel strips.
