Ingredients

  • 150 g flour
  • 100 g almonds
  • 80 g sugar
  • 3 oranges
  • 75 g white chocolate (finely chopped)
  • 5 eggs
  • 75 ml oil
  • 150 g quark
  • 75 ml buttermilk
  • 0.5 packet Baking powder
  • 0.5 lemon (juice)
  • 75 g honey
  • oil (for the springform)
  • mint (for garnish)

Instructions

    Peel oranges thoroughly and cut into about 1 cm thick slices.

    Boil sugar with 4 tbsp water until thick, then reduce to a syrup. Add orange slices and remove from heat.

    Whisk eggs with oil, quark, and buttermilk until smooth. Combine flour with almonds and baking powder, then quickly fold into the egg mixture. Mix honey with lemon juice and stir in with chocolate before adding to batter. Pour into greased springform pan, spread evenly, and arrange orange slices (without syrup) on top.

    Bake in preheated oven at 180°C for about 40–45 minutes. Test with a wooden stick; if the cake darkens, cover with foil. Remove from oven, drizzle with syrup, let cool, then unmold and serve garnished with mint.
