Onion Chutney

A quick onion chutney from Spoonsparrow that enhances many savory dishes in no time.

Ingredients

  • 500 g onions
  • 1 red chili pepper
  • 2 tbsp raisins
  • 125 ml red wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • Salt
  • 0.5 tsp turmeric
  • 2 cloves of cloves
  • 1 pinch ground allspice
  • black pepper (ground)

Instructions

    Peel the onions and slice them into rings. Wash the chili pepper and cut it into rings.

    Bring the onions, raisins, vinegar, chili, and 125 ml water to a boil. Stir in honey, a little salt, turmeric, cloves, and allspice. Simmer gently for about 20 minutes while stirring on medium heat.

    Let cool, then season with salt and pepper.
