Onion Burger from Spoonsparrow: For this recipe you only need a handful of ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 4 hamburger buns
  • leaf lettuce
  • 1 large red onion (sliced into rings)
  • tomato slice
  • cucumber slice
  • ketchup
  • mustard
  • mayonnaise (or whole milk yogurt)
  • 600 g ground beef (from the hip or shoulder)
  • Salt
  • Pepper (freshly ground)
  • oil (for frying)

Instructions

    Season the ground beef with a little salt and pepper. Then shape into round patties about 2 cm thick, smoothing the edges. Do not over-knead to keep the burgers juicy.

    Grill the patties under a hot oven grill on a rack or fry in a pan with a bit of oil; cook each side for 3-4 minutes until the inside is still slightly pink and very juicy.

    Slice the hamburger buns and place one patty on each. Top as desired with lettuce, cucumber slices, tomato slices, mustard, ketchup, onion rings, and mayonnaise or yogurt. Serve the Onion Burger.
