Nusskipferl

Ingredients
- 220 g flour
- 2 egg yolks
- 80 g powdered sugar
- 1 vanilla pod
- Salt
- 100 g ground hazelnut kernels
- 200 g butter
- flour (for rolling)
- 100 g dark chocolate

Sift the flour into a bowl, press a depression in the middle, add the egg yolk, powdered sugar, scraped vanilla bean and a pinch of salt. Sprinkle hazelnuts around the rim and distribute cold butter flakes on the edge. Quickly knead with cold hands until smooth, wrap in cling film and chill for about 1 hour.

On a floured surface roll the dough into 5 mm thick, ~5 cm long ropes, shape them into crescents and place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 200°C for about 10-12 minutes until golden yellow. Cool on a wire rack. Chop chocolate and melt in a double boiler. Dip one corner of each cooled crescent into the soft chocolate and let set on the rack.
